Cuban Restaurants in Queens New York

There are several great Cuban restaurants in Queens, New York City. One of these is the Havana Alma de Cuba. It’s located near the center of the west village and features live music every weekend. The dishes include a great selection of Cuban, Spanish and other Latin dishes.

The Havana Alma de Cuba has a patio for dining outside when the weather is favorable, and private rooms for a more personal, quiet experience.

Another wonderful Cuban restaurant in Queens is Calle Ocho. It’s a tappas style place, which means that patrons do not get individual plates of food. Instead, you buy many small appetizers to share. Although not terribly common in the US, this style of dining is widespread in other cultures such as China.

The Calle Ocho is famous for its sangria. It comes in about 10 different varieties, and is available at the buffet. The restaurant has a mix of Cuban and contemporary American food, which makes it a great place for everyone.

Sophie’s Cuban Restaurant was started by the Luna family, who hail from Lima, Peru. This wonderful eatery features up to sixteen different authentic Cuban meals a day such as shredded beef stew, fried plantain, or the famous Cuban sandwich. There are also weekly specials such as chicken fricassee, or goat stew.
