September 11, 2001 one of the most shocking and frightful events took place on this day. An event that one would never believe could happen to the United States.
There were many success stories such as the one of the 6 firefighters known as “the lucky six;” they were able to escape the collapse of the north building because of a little old lady that they saw from a distance. This old lady could not walk and they could see she was struggling to find a way to exit the building. So these six young firefighters decided to help her walk down to the lobby and take this woman to safety. As they were exiting the North tower they heard a huge sound and as they looked back they saw that the South Tower had collapsed and that the North Tower was following along, but because they had decided to help this little old lady to safety they were able to escape the dangers of being trapped under tons of concrete.
Those on the plane that understood their flight was in jeopardy, it was a blessing that in the first two rows Jeremy Glick, 31, a 6’1”, 220 lbs former judo and wrestling champion and Tom Burnett, 38, who was 6’2”, 210 lbs had a personal slogan “Everybody else first, then me” and Mark Binham, 31, who was 6’5”, 200lbs and was a go-getter were there. These tough guys, once they knew they were doomed they resolved to do something about it, they indentured together preventing the 4 hijackers from crashing the craft to its destiny, Washington D.C.
