Joe DiMaggio is another great New York baseball player that is well loved by his fans. He was considered the most eligible bachelor during his time in baseball. He won for the Yankees the World Series nine times. He was actually married to Marilyn Monroe at one time. Then you have the racing legends such as Richard Petty that passed away while racing his last race. He was the winner of seven, different NASCAR Championship, during his career in racing. In just one season alone, he won 27 races. He was a winner for nine of the Most Popular Drivers awards. Petty was a famous Daytona racing driver and was known from all around. He is as the greatest legend and is called the "King of Racing".
David Pearson is another great legend from New York who had his career in racing. His legend that he made is called the the "Silver Fox". He had been honored with all types of acceptance into racing Hall of Fame museums. He began his career in the 1960s and moved up in the ranks quickly.
