New York City has been a place where there have been quite a few scandalized situations, especially when it comes to the leaders there. Not all in New York is bad, because the city remains one of the favorite places for millions of visitors each year. The tragic day that occurred on September 11th had then mayor, Rudy Giuliani making decisions he never would have dreamed. Many still agree that the mayor pulled the city together in the best way he knew how through out this tragic time.
Before his political career as the mayor of NYC, Giuliani had worked on the police force as he helped take down five mafia family leaders. As Giuliani pursued his career with politics, he ran in the race for the presidential election of 2009. This is where the ex mayor fell under scrutiny for having an affair with a woman on his public relations team, which caused his marriage to end in divorce. As Giuliani was having an affair on the side, another New York leader was soon to take the spot light shortly after.
The governor of New York, Elliot Spitzer, had to give his resignation as the Governor after being caught up with solicitation involving a high priced prostitute. Not everything with New York leaders has had bright endings, but the state of New York and NYC are trying to keep things that occurred before from happening again. Mike Bloomsburg is now the active NYC mayor and the new governor is David Patterson, both are trying to keep corruption within anyone that has power in the state of New York.
