New York City is one of the most visited cities in the United States. One of the most famous landmarks, the Statue of Library, stands overlooking the harbor. There are tons of things to see and do in New York. One has only to mention Wall Street or Broadway and you know exactly in which city they are.
Many young people with aspirations of being in show business dream of making it big on Broadway, the center of the theater district, also known as the Great White Way. Broadway takes you by Times and Herald Squares. Most of Broadway was originally two-way traffic, but has been changed to one-way traffic over the years. Wall Street, located at the tip of Manhattan, is home to the financial district. Many banking institutions have their offices on Wall Street.
Times Square is right off Broadway and is the site of the annual dropping of the New Year's Eve ball. It is also home to numerous theaters, cinemas and electronic billboards. Fifth Avenue is a ten-block stretch where shops for designers like Gucci, Prada and Versace are located. Van Cleef, Tiffany and Cartier are jewelry stores for the rich and famous. FAO Schwartz and a huge Disney store draw customers worldwide. The gothic St. Patrick's Cathedral is located on Fifth Avenue, along with Trump Tower and The Plaza, two of the city's most luxurious hotels. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is located on the corner of Fifth and 82nd Street. Central Park South leads you to the park, and to its famous zoo. If you mention Broadway, Wall Street, Fifth Avenue or Central Park, most people instantly think of New York City.
