September 11, 2001 is one of those days that no one will ever forget. It doesn't matter where we were, what we were doing or who we were with. People have their own stories about that particular day, but none will be remotely similar to those who lived it and helped rescue people after the devastating occurrence.
Starting with those on Flight 93, they knew the danger they were in and still were able to make all of those phone calls to their loved ones and making their intentions known of overthrowing the hijackers. By sacrificing their own lives they saved so many others. Then we have all those police and firefighters that risked their own lives by trying to save so many others. Imagine these very courageous people going into a building that they know will be coming down at any time while thousands of others are trying to get out. So many stories can be told about that awful day. So many lives were touched in many different ways. The whole world came together at that moment, as if time stood still. During that very painful period, we could find heroes everywhere. People cared about one another on that day; it almost made all other problems seem petty and unimportant.
Our heroes of September 11 shall not be forgotten. Their efforts were amazing and many lives were saved because of their devotion to helping others.
