Mike D'Antoni

Mike D'Antoni is currently the coach of the New York Knicks in the NBA and has resurged them from being one of the worst teams in NBA history to a team that has become much more competitive. D'antoni was recently the coach of the Phoenix Suns with star players such as Shaquille O'neal, Amare Stoudemire, and Steve Nash, just to name a few. Although, with the New York Knicks, he does not have the big name players under him as he did with the Suns. This is a big reason why D'Antoni is such a good and well rounded coach, because he does not need the greatest talent to get the most out of his team.

The New York Knicks have had losing season after losing season. They have been one of the worst teams in recent years, and so the Knicks decided to bring in fiery Mike D'Antoni. D'Antoni is a coach who preaches an up pace style of play. His teams are always running the floor and looking to get open looks on fast breaks. The Phoenix Suns were one of the highest scoring teams in the league with D'Antoni as their coach, and he has boosted the offensive firepower of the Knicks as well. One thing that D'Antoni does get blamed for sometimes is that his teams do not play tough defense. While it is true that his teams can put big points up on the scoreboard, they are not able to stop the other team from scoring. One thing is certain though, D'Antoni will have to instill an all around game style into his teams on both the offensive end as well as the defensive end in order to ever have a chance at winning the NBA Finals.
